Back and Forth
Writing…what a career choice that is. Last week I submitted in a part one for a Jihad story to BattleCorps—which has just created a whole closet full of warm fuzzies, let me tell yah. Then I wrote up a first draft on a fantasy short story—DOWNTRODDEN—my first full fantasy one that isn’t URBAN. That was Thursday night. After that I played another chapter of CRISIS CORE (Angeal died! Waaahhhh!) and did up a few sketches for my protag in CHEVAL. I’m thinking, Cool, now I can get geared up on JUST CHEVAL for a few weeks and get that finished!
Nope. Got an email on Friday from my agent—EVANESCENT needs more work. Phhutz. She showed it to a B.N.E.F. (Big Name Editor Friend) and got his input. So I need to stop on CHEVAL…again…and get back to EVANESCENT. Apparently it needs 1. More setting, and 2. More interaction with dah brother.
Meh.
When I first started this little ditty, back in the emergency room when my Dad suffered another round of seizures, setting wasn’t a huge issue. Emotion was all there was. So now I have to anchor this baby down somewhere. phhhtt. It’s Y.A., it’s supposed to be all emo, right??
