Objects in Mirror may be closer than they Appear

Yep.

Was finally struck by road debris. I mean—I know there’s some weird percentage of people out there who have cracked windshields and dented hoods thanks to idiots who don’t secure items into their trucks well enough. But so far in my rather average life I’d never really been in that group. Until now.

But who would have thought to be attacked by a DRAWER?!?!

Not me.

But on the way to a press check—that’s exactly what came at my driver’s side door—big and brown dresser drawer. Luckily it was press-board. I doubt if it’d been made of REAL wood my driver’s side window would have survived—nor would my head.

My passenger and I let loose a tirade of colorful metaphors before I pulled over and surveyed the damage. And to my utter amazement—I only suffered a destroyed driver’s side mirror. And just the mirror part. All the gadgets inside still work. So I thanked the Great Electron nothing else happened…until I pulled into the Honda dealer and asked them for just that part:

“Oh, we don’t sell just the removeable pop-out glass. You have to buy the whole piece and schedule an installation. That’ll be $245.”

*facepalm*
